Sometimes a simple upgrade is all that is needed to improve the performance of valves that aren’t operating at their best.

At Severn Unival, we see many OEM valves that are exhibiting poor control, but upon inspection the core body and trim design proves adequate for the application. Often, problems can be attributed to mechanical positioners that lack the accuracy and precision to control flow effectively. Upgrading the valve with a digital smart positioner brings a new control set-up, and more accurate response times.

The skill and experience of our engineers ensures that we are able to identify those valves which need a full overhaul and those which only need a straightforward upgrade to enhance their performance.

Retrofit

Retrofitting valves, in response to underperformance or process change, can be a smart and cost-effective way to enhance plant performance quickly, especially during a shutdown or maintenance window.

We use our Repair Intelligence Circle to inform and enhance retrofit activity. Using the existing body as a base, we revise the design and specification of the active control components in accordance with our ISO 9000:2000 quality management system. Valves are fully certified and registered ‘as new’ with a Severn Unival serial number, full BOM and SPIR list and guarantee.

At Severn Unival, retrofit is synonymous with quality. In fact, it means bespoke, fit-for-purpose valves that are manufactured and tested inline with rigorous industry standards. It also brings a substantially reduced lead time compared to new valve production.
