Policy Statement

Severn Glocon Ltd manufactures and supplies process control valves and servicing.

We are dedicated to producing high quality products and services, which continue to satisfy the needs and requirements of our customers and interested parties. The Quality Policy is reviewed at the Management Review to ensure its continuing suitability and effectiveness, and to ensure if it remains appropriate to the purpose, scale, nature and impact of the company’s activities, products and service.

We are totally committed to meeting requirements and to continue improvement at all levels and within all functions of the company, and this commitment is consistently achieved through the implementation and maintenance of our Quality Management System which satisfies all the requirements of BSEN ISO 9001:2000. Severn Glocon Ltd has a commitment too and is compliant with all national statutory legislation and considers all regulatory, legal and other relevant obligations related to the product. This is evidenced by documented procedures, objectives and results, is maintained by a system of Internal Audits, an annual Management Review, and independent audits by recognised bodies which may include our customers themselves.

Quality objectives will normally be set as a result of the Management Review or actions arising from this policy will be communicated to the individuals concerned as per the documented Quality Management System procedures. Quality objectives will be communicated through the Severn Glocon Ltd management structure. Specific quality objectives can also be assigned through results of internal audits, changes in applicable legislation or customer / interested party requirements, or as part of the ongoing continual improvement programme. All quality objectives are documented and reviewed / current overall quality objectives and extended internal auditor training.

Ultimate responsibility for Quality Systems is that of the Managing Director but quality is the responsibility of everyone in the organisation. In recognising the importance of the Quality Management System, the company has appointed the Group Quality Assurance Manager as Management Representative with responsibility and authority for all matters pertaining to the system elements. It is the responsibility of Severn Glocon Ltd to provide adequate and appropriate resources tot implement the policy.

The competence, training, awareness and continued development of Severn Glocon Ltd personnel are a major factor in the understanding, implementation and maintenance of the system and achieving its goals and objectives, this is communicated to all personnel through the annual competence / performance appraisal process which is a fundamental part of the system.

Severn Glocon Ltd recognises the Pressure Equipment Regulations PER (SI 1999/2001) according to the Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on the approximation of the laws of the Member States relating to pressure equipment. Severn Glocon Ltd will implement quality management systems in compliance with Module H of the PED/PER (SI. 1999/2001) regulations.

This policy has been defined by senior management of Severn Glocon Ltd and has been communicated, understood and implemented throughout the organisation as per the document procedure in the Quality manual. It is available to interested parties upon request.

Quality Management Systems (QMS) Objective

The QMS objective is to improve the performance of the organisation, and achieve a sustained success that allows the business to continually improve and develop.

The areas which have been identified as critical to achieving this objective are given below.

Understanding customer needs, requirements and expectations.

Promote leadership and teamwork towards common goals and purpose.

Involve people throughout the organisation, with training as necessary, to fully develop their competency and awareness skills.

Efficient utilisation of resources while working to pre-determined targets.

Identify and manage working systems that improve the organisation’s efficiency and effectiveness.

Create the environment for the company to continually improve and develop.

Provide accurate information and data to allow effective decision making

Form mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers.

Implement and maintain a QMS in compliance with Module H of PED 97/23/EC and PER(SI. 1999/2001) together with other acceptable EC Directives.

Severn Glocon Ltd. manufactures and supplies Process Control Valves and servicing worldwide, we are dedicated to producing quality products and services which continue to satisfy the needs of our customers and interested parties. All products and processes are manufactured and controlled in strict compliance with the Quality Management system accredited to BS EN ISO 9001 2000. Furthermore for products sold within the European Community (EC) these are compliant with the mandatory requirements of the Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC (PED) Category 3 Module H, and the ATEX Directive 94/9/EC Group II Category 2, these approvals are subject to continuous assessment.
