Going East in North America 19th February 2010

As exploration around Canada’s east coast continues to uncover potential for large scale oil and gas production, Severn Glocon Group is in prime position to build on its presence in the region.

Severn Glocon recently completed the manufacture of a batch of large valves for a leading Canadian energy company conducting business in Newfoundland. In addition, Carl Schofield of Design Paradigm – the Group’s design consulting business – continues in his long-term secondment within a well-known
Canadian petrochemicals organisation.

“Eastern Canada is a very active area,” explains Carl. “There is a lot of exploratory activity going on and just a couple of months ago the Newfoundland Premier announced a deal to further expand the Hibernia oil field.

“Newfoundland and Nova Scotia are well known as the centre of Eastern seaboard activity, but there are also significant onshore developments.

Several oil and gas producers have recently announced new phases of production in the region.” Carl specialises in the specification and design phase of highly-engineered valves. Combined with Design
Paradigm’s innovative simulation software, his skill-set proves invaluable for new-build operations.

“Eastern Canada is proving increasingly to be a significant region for our business, and when the time is right we will further strengthen our operations there,” says Carl.
