Severn Glocon valves for Sines LNG terminal 18th March 2010
REN Atlântico has selected Severn Glocon to provide 14 cryogenic globe control valves to support the extension of its LNG receiving terminal at Sines, a deep-water harbour in Portugal.
Severn Glocon is offering an extended four-year warranty on the valves, more than twice as long as the industry standard. This is being facilitated by Severn Unival engineers who will conduct a detailed pre-commissioning site survey as well as cross-checking the installation.
Due for delivery in mid-September, the valves will range in size from 2” to 10” with pressure ratings between 300 and 1,500lbs. Cryogenic testing will take place in-house at the Group’s UK headquarters and the valves will be fully ATEX (Atmospheres Explosives) and PED (Pressure Equipment Directive) certified. In addition, Severn Glocon will provide Portuguese versions of manuals to enhance safety nd ongoing valve maintenance.
This project follows Severn Glocon’s provision of valves when the terminal was built in 2003.
