Severn Glocon's Keynote Speech to Gulf Society of Maintenance Professionals 4th April 2011

Tony Brooke, General Manager Severn Glocon Group Technical Services gave the keynote speech at the first technical dinner to be held by the Gulf Society of Maintenance Professionals in Qatar last month.

Tony explained the intelligent alternative to repeated valve repair, drawing on Severn Glocon’s deep knowledgebase achieved through intelligence gathering at the repair stage of Control and Choke Valves.

Founded by professionals from major companies in the Gulf region to promote maintenance professionalism, the GSMP is an independent, none profit society that provides a forum for members to share their knowledge and experience in order to better address industry challenges.

Qatar is a major area of growth for Severn Glocon, with continuing contracts for Qatar Petroleum, RasGas and Maersk, supported from SG Wll’s facility in Doha. A feature of our support service to contracted clients is our ability to issue technical advice in support of new legislation, HSE advisories and responses to technical developments.

Mr. Dario Cadavid, the technical bid project manager for the Qatar FIFA World Cup 2022 bid committee also spoke at the event, explaining the stadium cooling system design that will be utilised in the Qatar matches during the competition.
