Severn Unival Launches Severn Norway for Specialist North Sea Market 4th April 2011

In a move that demonstrates long term commitment to the highly specialist Norwegian North Sea market, Severn Unival is launching a new specialist control and choke valve business, Severn Norway, in conjunction with their long-term business partner in the region, J.S. Cock.

Severn Norway, which opens in Bergen on 23^rd May, will offer expertise and extensive experience in service, diagnostic, repair and retrofit of critical control and choke valves to the Norwegian oil and gas industry.

The move will increase Severn Glocon Group’s focus on high performance valve sales and support services in that marketplace, as well as increasing J.S.Cock`s market share of critical valves there.

Severn Norway will be operated by the J.S.Cock Bergen branch from brand new purpose-built premises. The Norwegian operation will have the full technical support of Severn Unival‘s renowned Performance Plus team, with their world-class valve repair and upgrade capabilities.

Severn Unival has designed and supplied some of its most complex, precision-engineered control valves for the Norwegian sector over the last 50 years, supporting its operations from its UK bases.

“Specification and engineering standards in Norway are extremely high and Norwegian offshore operations are particularly demanding,” commented Severn Unival director, Colin Findlay.  “Our presence on-the-ground will offer a distinct advantage to our core clients who have wanted to see our World Class Engineering Intelligence put into action locally.”

The Severn Norway team will be headed by Bjørnar Stald who has more than 10 years’ experience with Severn Unival products. J.S.Cock has been in the valve business for more than 114 years in Norway. The company has its main office in Oslo, and branch offices in Arendal, Stavanger and Bergen.
